SECOND INFOBIOMED TRAINING
CHALLENGE
29 May-2 June 2006
Monastery of Les Avellanes and Barcelona. Spain
The Second INFOBIOMED Training Challenge is an innovative experience organized by the Network of Excellence INFOBIOMED that will
take place in Monastery of Les Avellanes
(Lleida, Spain) from the
29th of May to the 2nd of June 2006.
The INFOBIOMED Training Challenge will gather two groups of 5 advanced students with expertise on different biomedical informatics fields (bioinformatics, medical informatics, biology, medicine, chemistry, etc.), who will collaboratively work on a case study related to a research problem. Each student is required to submit a motivated case study upon application. Among the case studies proposed, the organizing committee has selected one case study per group, according to the potential it offers for cross-discipline approaches.
The objective of this training activity is to promote the dialogue between disciplines, which is key for the future development of
Biomedical Informatics, in the context of an specific research problem.
Pharmainformatics has been chosen as the broad theme of this edition.
The participants will spend the week in the
Monastery of Les Avellanes, so that they can actually 'live' for a week on a research-driven environment. The INFOBIOMED Network of Excellence will cover the participants expenses during the event.
At the end of the 2nd INFOBIOMED Training Challenge the participants can benefit from a
15 day stay in one of the INFOBIOMED partner sites.
