The International Symposium on Biomedical Informatics in Europe will be held in Barcelona on June 26^th and 27^th and will include scientific sessions on six hot topics in the field:

- Systems biology insight into human disease and treatment.
- Biocomputation and knowledge management in drug discovery and development.
- Data and knowledge mining in biomedical research.
- Modelling and simulation in biomedical research.
- Standards and ontologies in biomedical informatics.
- Case studies of biomedical informatics applications.

A satellite Doctoral School on Biomedical Informatics will be held on June 25^th, with the aim of providing PhD students with a forum to present their research projects and receive constructive feedback from experts and fellows.
